“Storm In My Life” is the latest release by The Amanda Emblem Experiment, a music outlet of Amanda Emblem, an Australian singer-songwriter based in Kandanga Creek. It’s her first piece of work this year, arriving as an adequate follow-up to “Farmtime,” a critically acclaimed extended play released last year that you should also check out as soon as possible. With “Storm in My Life,” Amanda Emblem steers her musical ship straight into the eye of romantic turbulence, though instead of wreckage, we’re left with a foot-tapping, harmonica-laced breeze of blues-folk sunshine. Out July 25 via Wild Weather Records, the single is the first glimpse into Amanda’s upcoming album The Wood, and it’s as catchy as it is cleverly written!

Since 2017, Amanda Emblem has been performing under her name by adding the word ‘Experiment’ as the quintessence of her desire not to stand still but to develop as an artist. Before that, Amanda Emblem had a turbulent musical life in which she appeared as a singer and bassist of several popular Australian bands. Today, the artist is settled in rural South East Queensland, where she perfectly combines growing vegetables with writing and recording new original music.

A song that gets under your skin. That’s how it feels to listen to “Storm in My Life,” the latest single from The Amanda Emblem Experiment. Like one of those tracks you didn’t realize you needed until it landed in your eardrums with a proverbial thump. The catchy acoustic folk and blues song, which was released on July 25, features playful but incisive lyrical storytelling and an upbeat performance from the artist. Using her finely honed fingerpicking guitar skills developed during lockdown, Amanda creates a wonderfully rhythmic and warm musical landscape for a tale that uses wild weather as a metaphor for love and all its life affirming highs and lows.

“You are the storm in my life, the danger feels so damn right, pressure drops when you’re away, it’s a sad but sunny day, waiting for lightning to strike” sings The Amanda Emblem Experiment as she opens Storm in my Life with a vibrant, American soundscape featuring guitar, textured drums and harmonica.
We are immediately enthralled the authenticity that Amanda exudes, her brand of storytelling, situational and metaphorical – raw and cinematic. There is no doubt that Storm in my Life would be perfect for a major Hollywood synch deal – perhaps a romantic comedy.

Australian folk singer-songwriter Amanda Emblem has released her latest single, “Storm in My Life”. “Storm in My Life” is a catchy, upbeat, and bluesy folk tune that beautifully expresses the emotional turmoil that can come with love. This single is the first single from Amanda’s forthcoming album, ‘The Wood’, to be released under Wild Weather Records, and she manages to convey the clever metaphor of a whirlwind romance being a storm through musical playfulness and her effective metaphorical writing.

Amanda Emblem is a singer and guitarist based in Mary Valley, Southeast Queensland. She has been writing, recording, and performing across Australia (and beyond) for 20 years in various guises, having formed The Amanda Emblem Experiment in 2017. She now releases her newest single, which comes with an AI-animated music video.
It’s interesting that the lightness that “Storm in My Life” emanates is inspired by Amanda’s lighthearted approach to life. In the song’s lyrics, she uses the metaphor of a storm, which she admires when it happens around her and the river overflows, conveying it as a message of love.

The Amanda Emblem Experiment is back with its latest single, “Storm In My Life,” which proves to be a breezy yet bittersweet affair, marking the first taste of the forthcoming album, The Wood. Like all good storms, it is both unexpected and unavoidable, but its passing somehow leaves us feeling fresh and invigorated and the musical landscape cleaner.

When a musician like Amanda comes along, you’re looking forward to listening. The songstress is able to weave a whole new reality with her melodies-while bringing this particular metaphor to life. Her latest single is called Storm in My Life-and it’s something she gets through, with sheer will. The Australian musician is able to contrast the feeling of the track with her vocals and choice of composition.
Simple progressions assist her vocals along with soft percussions-while the images crafted are at the far end. The Farmtime musician is able to bring layered musings about nature, with ease. The Amanda Emblem Experiment is a project in art that is able to project much more than it looks like. Like a cloud, in a storm…

Storm In My Life is a love song, which is an effective blend of powerful emotion, energy, and obvious narration through metaphor. The song draws parallels between the top and bottom of romantic relationships and an unpredictable storm, which makes it relatable and really human.

Amanda Emblem is a singer and guitarist who lives in Mary Valley, South East Queensland. She has been composing, recording, and performing in Australia (and abroad) for the past 20 years under various guises, creating The Amanda Emblem Experiment in 2017. This is not her first time being featured on our blog. Her EP “Farmtime” is a collection of songs I am still reeling over. On 25th July, she released a song called “Storm in my life”.
“Storm in My Life” is an energetic blues/folk song. It’s a story of fresh love compared to stormy weather, with a metaphorical twist and turn from the first lyric to the chiming outro. Its hooks captivate you, as does its undeniable innocence and refreshing performance. While this is a light-hearted song about a stormy relationship, many people will connect because they have been affected in some way by the recent exceptional wild storms. The track, which is supported by Amanda’s powerful finger picking and acoustic blues stylings, includes harmonica and slide guitar.

The Amanda Emblem Experiment, her latest rock offer, “Storm in My Life.” This entertaining track captures the chaos and clarity found in the most turbulent moments of life. With the Gritti Guitar Refes, a stable pulse of drums and the uniquely raw tone of Amanda invite the listeners into an emotional tornado. This is not just a storm – it is an admission, an opposition, and a personal repetition, wrapped in the sonic thunder. The chorus is swollen with power, echoes flexibility, and vulnerability in similar measurements.

Amanda Emblem is a singer-songwriter and guitarist. Her music is a contemplative journey through different moments of life. In her latest release, ‘Storm in my Life’, she explores pieces of serenity and peace when everything seems to be falling apart. She puts a positive spin on it, an effortless shift in perspective that changes the way the song forms.
The folk pop song is sparked by expressive instrumentals, warm melodies and engaging vocals. It has a simplistic rhythm to it, consistent and continuous. Nothing too stormy. The song sounds lived in, well-loved, and authentically played. The guitar strings are fleshed out by harmonica sequences and ebb-flow beat lines. A soft and mellow track because storms always end, they go away and the sun comes out. This track feels like that ray of sunshine after the storm has finally blown away. Hopeful, refreshing, and brand new.

The Akademia Awards recipient Amanda Emblem and her band are back with another release. The Queensland-based singer, vocalist and guitarist formed a band named “The Amanda Emblem Experiment” to promote music through harmony. Consisting of Kelly King on flute, and harmonica, Billy Adams on drums, and Scott Astill on bass—with all four members also lending their voices—the band is one-of-a-kind, driven by versatility.
Their new song, “Storm in My Life,” is part of their upcoming album, “The Wood.” It touches on a fragile yet significant topic of a relationship. The ups and downs, the highs and lows of newfound love, are compared to a wild storm. The emotional tone, musical texture and lyrical themes of the blues/folk song perfectly portrays the two sides of love—joy and vulnerability. You will definitely relate to this track if you have ever fallen in love.

Amanda Emblem is yet another singer-songwriter who has a fresh musical appeal. Her latest single, ‘Storm in my Life’ explores the push and pull of a difficult relationship. It can be hard and confusing to be in an unsettled connection. Stormy even on the worst days. But Amanda is here to tell you that it does get better. The sun always comes up, if you let it. All you have to do is choose better for yourself. In fact, the song is written and sung like a sunny day. With luminous instrumentals, skipping rhythm, and uplifting vocal moments, the song opens up the perspective. It’s as if the artist is manifesting for you, is showing you how it can feel if you let it go.

Imagine being on the porch with the sun shining bright after long days of winter, and that is what ‘Storm in My Life’ by The Amanda Emblem Experiment feels like. Feeling like sunshine, the song actually captures a shade of love that echoes unpredictability, thrill and lack of stability. The song sounds like a blend of country and folk elements, with its acoustic instrumentation which also makes use of harmonica and slide guitar. The instrumentation is kept simple, which allows the storytelling lyricism to shine through brilliantly. Full of warmth, playfulness and emotion, this song is a breezy listening experience.
Review by THe Music House
The Amanda Emblem’s latest album, ‘The Wood’, is relaxed, down-to-earth, and heartfelt. The music is acoustic folk, including acoustic and electric guitars. There’s a flute, a harmonica, and a little jazz-like smooth guitar. Her songs are narrative, based on real-life experiences from her quiet life by the beach. The first track, “Hanging Flute”, is an instrumental introduction led by the flute. The song has an easy-going, cool but slightly eerie mood, which continues into the following track. “Storm in My Life” is an uptempo and catchy song. It has clever lyrics about love, hardship, and analogies to weather.
